Flash Back.

June 15, 2007

A couple days back: “ahhhhh!” some one screamed. The people who came with Phillip were taking force and firing big pieces of metal. I think I heard someone call them guns. I hid with my family and the children but my family was across the room. I heard another scream. “Wait I recognize that voice” I said “its Tanis!” I told the children to be brave and stay quiet, outside every one was being loaded arrows were being shot, spears were stabbing into people! it was horrible! I had to do some thing so I cleared my thought stepped out side and yelled at the top of my lungs “WE HAVE SPICES WE WILL TRADE YOU OUR EXOTIC SPICES FOR OUR FREEDOM!” a couple men glanced at me, then I realized that they do not under stand my language. So I tried again “WE WILL TRADE YOU SPICES FOR OUR FREEDOM!”  this time a man got fed up and he wrestled me onto the ship, I recognized the room immediately from hearing from Phillip… it was a room for slaves.

I waited In that room with the others for what seemed like forever just sitting, thinking of what I could do…then it hit me, the night before this I had taught Phillip our language so that we could communicate! I sprinted out of the room and found phillip in the kitchen unaware of what was happening from inside the ship you couldn’t here anything on the out side. I explained to Phillip what was happening I also told him to throw out all of the spices so that they would need to trade and so that our homeland would be safe again. and he said “People of the Military! My friend Kachina says that she will give us all the spices we need for their freedom!” The Military looked at Philip. The General, Philip’s boss, came up to him and said “So… spices for freedom, huh?” “And anything else they need” I said “Kachina says and anything else you need” “Well well well… I guess they have a deal” said the General. I gave them loads of different spices, I gave Phillip some native toys for his children and one Kachina doll for him to remember that day. I will always remember Phillip deep in my heart I know that he will always remember me too. So this is farewell I have been ordered to stop writing by the chief because he says that they wouldn’t have come if they didn’t hear about our home from me. So I guess this is good-bye.A couple days back: “ahhhhh!” some one screamed. The people who came with Phillip were taking force and firing big pieces of metal. I think I heard someone call them guns. Phillip And Me.

June 13, 2007

 Hi it’s me again, (Kachina)

Today Phillip and me had a good long talk. We talked about our opinions on slave trading first and then we talked about our family then I introduced him to my family, after that we just talked about anything like experiences, places we’ve been, and more. When we finished talking I showed him around the island. I think he may be amazed by all of the wild life here.

We saw birds, wild pigs, animals I had never seen before and more. Phillip and I had fun al day long today but now it is light and I have to go to bed now, bye.

The Ship

June 12, 2007

 Hi it’s Kachina again.

I wanted to show you what the ship looked like that Phillip arrived in. I drew a picture of it with paint that my mama gave me for my 14th birthday. The ship has high sails with a lot of people on it. I will add the picture to the post.

I had better get home now bye!

It Landed!

June 11, 2007

 Hello it’s Kachina,

The ship landed today at 2:30 pm I guess the chef of the ship didn’t have enough spices for the whole trip. But that’s okay we have plenty. The chef’s name is Phillip, where have I heard that name before? Oh yeah! I remember! He is the man whoes blog I have been commenting on! This is so exciting! I wonder if he will recognize my name! I would be happy if he did that way it shows me that he knows that I am real. Well I am going to go introduce myself, bye!

Hi it’s Kachina,

I am going to write about where we can be found. Our colony moves a lot so we never have a permanent location, but rite now we are on the west side of the island. We may be moving to the south side soon we might be going to the north no one really knows except for chief Chaamingwi. I know this is a short post but duty calls I am on look out duty now so I have better go spot some ships.

Hi it’s Kachina,

Sorry that i havent posted in a while, it is the year 1509, my last post was 2 years back! Today we discovered a fruit that we have never seen before, its yellow, long, grows on trees, the monkeys were eating then, there was a lot of them, some of them were green but the monkeys only ate the yellow ones. They grow in bunches high up in the trees. I tried one and let me tell you, they are good! We are glad that we found them; we were getting tired of the same old food all the time. I better go feed the children and after that go look out for ships with Tanis.

Tanis

july 15, 1507

 Hey! It’s Kachina.

The ceremony went great! Nazhoni is now officially part of the tribe. Her name suit’s her; she is the most adorable baby I have seen in a long time! She is the chief’s daughter. So unless he has a son she will be the next chief. I think he might even have a son next! But I am not sure it’s all up to the mother of his children, so far he has two daughters but one of them was offered the position of the chief and denied it because she wants to be a normal citizen of the tribe, her name is Tanis witch means daughter. Tanis also thinks that it’s a mans job to watch out for the tribe, her job now is that she works with me by taking care of children. She is also my best friend that is in the tribe; another job that we share is that every now and then we have to go see if a ship is coming toward the island. So if we need to we can get ready for war. The children are waking up from their nap I better go get them.

Hi it’s Kachina.

Today there is a sacred ceremony for the baby that was recently brought into our tribe. Her name is Nazhoni it means beautiful. The ceremony will be held at he pond in about 20 minutes, the whole tribe will be there. Nazhoni is two days old and is now stable enough to be there and to be bathed for the first time by our chief Chaamongwi. I better go get ready for the sacred ceremony for Nazhoni.

Our Land.

Hi it’s Kachina,

I wanted to talk to you about our land here in the rain forest. It has many exotic elements, for example the foods. There are different spices that we have discovered here there are many fresh fruits and vegetables here that are great to cook with. We get our water to wash cloths in a watering hole just a few minuets away. We also get water from an amazing waterfall just over the hill. That is where we get our drinking water; to bathe we go to a small pool of water that is about 3-4 feet deep on one half and 2-3 feet deep on the other side for the small children. My favorite part about living out here is that its quiet and that you can enjoy nature how it is. I also like the sight of the pretty birds like the parrot and the humming bird. I have to go and bathe the children now.
