The Sail

October 6, 1504

Just came back from my job, which took a month and a half to travel there and back, and it was fantastic. We left for Hong Kong, China and traded with the people there. The military 4 mostly traded weapons and stock in exchange for spices, gunpowder, clothing material, gold and silver. On the way back home, I used some of the spices to make supper and it turned out terrific! I brought some of the leftovers home for my wife to try. She thought it was great! At the time, my wife’s pregnant and it seemed like the baby could come at any moment. I am hoping it will be a boy. And my darling daughter, Mary, is 2 years old now. Well I have to go now and milk the cow. Good-bye.

    Hi it’s Kachina,
Do you know what you are going to name your son if you have one, what about if it turns out to be a female? My mother is going to have a baby too I want it to be a boy though. What is your reason for wanting a boy? I want a brother because I already have a sister and I think it would be neat to have a brother. Is Mary excited to be a big sister I know I was, how was your trip to Hong Kong, all smooth sailings I hope. What type of food did you make? I have lots of questions, sorry. There are many spices here I wonder what you could make here! I have better go to bed now it’s getting late,

    Bye Phillip,

P.s. good luck with your wife and child(ren.)

    Hello Kachina
I would name my son Riley but if it’s a girl then I will name it Jill. I want to have a son because, its like your reason, I already have a daughter and having a son, I can bond with him more. I never told my daughter yet that she might be a big sister but she is young so she really wouldn’t get what I mean. And yes I did have a nice smooth sail to Hong Kong. Their culture is so nice and beautiful and they have big trade centers there. The food I made was this stuff called chilly. I put beans, kidney beans and spices like chilly powder, garlic powder and some spices that were kind of hot. Well that’s all the time I have for now. Good-bye.
    -Philip
